The Moonstone Brooch
We are getting close to the release of THE MOONSTONE BROOCH. I was hoping it would be ready by Christmas, but that doesn’t seem likely. It will probably be late January, which means the audiobook won’t be out before May. The narrators can’t start until the manuscript is finished and instead of waiting on them, I like to release the ebook and print versions right away.
We’ll do a cover reveal next month, but here’s the blurb…
When Barclay “Clay” Archibald MacIntyre, an investigative reporter, finds a moonstone brooch hidden in his late uncle’s library, he triggers the magic and is swept up into a swirling fog that carries him back in time to Buffalo, NY.
He arrives at the 1901 Pan-American Exposition on the day President McKinley is assassinated. Knowing that Vice President Teddy Roosevelt will soon arrive in town, Clay pitches his TR story idea to a local newspaper that gets him an introduction to the Vice President.
When Patrick Mallory discovers his college roommate time-traveled to Buffalo in 1901, he volunteers to go after him. Emily Duffy volunteers to go too, so she can contact her mother, Frances Barrett Duffy. As soon as Kit and Cullen Montgomery learn a trip to 1901 is in the works, they also volunteer, hoping to have another reunion with their children.
Believing the evil that threatened the clan was defeated, Elliott Fraser approves the trip but wants his son, JC, and his friend, Paul, to join the team.
The six travelers arrive in Buffalo a few days after the assassination and discover that Clay left town with TR once McKinley was stable. Believing Clay will return with TR when McKinley dies of complications from his bullet wound, the travelers take time to enjoy the Exposition with Kit and Cullen’s granddaughter, Sarah, but an introduction to a man wearing an Illuminati ring and an attempt on their lives turn the situation deadly.
After Clay and Roosevelt return to Buffalo and TR is sworn in as president, the time travelers go to Washington, D.C. to extend their visit with Kit and Cullen’s family.
While in Washington, James Cullen and Emily, and Patrick and Sarah try to enjoy their time together, but Clay insists on chasing a story that could expose the Illuminati’s web of political influence and extortion.
If they can expose the Illuminati now, before its tentacles reach into the world’s major banks and international corporations, they can prevent the organization from controlling the worlds of finance and commerce in the twenty-first century.
A lofty goal and an extremely dangerous one!

Melody, I hope you’ve had a chance to read the story.
3/9/24 As an audiobook, reader, and only an audiobook, reader, it is really disappointing to me that the series delays audiobook publication by three months or more at times when a new book comes out. It’s as if those of us who read audiobooks aren’t a part of the purchasing public. I cannot read print, I have no option to reprint I have to read audiobooks it’s my only access to print materials. It’s a shame because I love this series I love the complexity of the back stories. I love the history that’s built into it and the science… Read more »
Hi Debbie, I’m an independent author. The narrators can’t start on the audiobook until the manuscript is finished and edited for release. As soon as I have a finished manuscript, I upload it to Amazon to make it available to readers. At the same time, I send the manuscript to the narrators, but since I work on my own schedule and don’t have a specific release date, I can’t reserve the narrators’ time. I have to wait for an opening in their schedules.
